  • My house faces the sea or, to be precise, Looe Bay.  The house itself is a Victorian Villa, with large windows that maximise the view. There is a road  outside and then a grassy verge,  which is actually the South West Coast Path, which leads to the sea wall and the lovely rock and shingle Hannafore Beach. The wild flowers along the verge are a magnet for all sorts of bird life as well as rabbits and little voles and shrews. So, whilst my paintings often feature sea and coastal birds there are many more that desreve to be celebrated for living life on the coast. Goldfinches are a favourite of mine as they are so beautiful, so they are the subject of this painting and are enjoying the view as much as I do!
