Still Standing

I had the Elton John song running through my head as I was paintig this! I often title paintings with both a literal and deeper meaning in mind, this is one of them. Inspired by the moors, abandoned mine workings and the rich history of both and also a reminder that we are still standing. Despite the crazy, turbulent times we live in we are still standing...

As usual this is a many layered painting, encompassing handwritten and hand painted collaged pieces, acrylic paint, inks and dry media.
