I love old nautical terms and phrases. They are so poetic.
The Tide Makes means the tide is rising but I imagine it with ellipsis:
The Tide Makes... things clean
The Tide Makes... the day start afresh
The Tide Makes... the boats head out of harbour
As usual this is a many layered painting, encompassing handwritten and hand painted collaged pieces, acrylic paint, inks and dry media.
