Where The Old Lines Lie
"Where the Old Lines Lie" refers to the concept of relict, or fossil landscapes, where ancient human interference, primarily farming, track-making, and land management, has left permanent marks on the terrain, even centuries after they ceased to be used. These lines are visual memories of human activity, such as ancient field boundaries, sunken lanes, boundary ditches and cropmarks. The moors, a favourite place to wander, has many of these features, alongside its granite outcrops and derelict buildings. This painting celebrates it all!
Lovingly created with lots of collage and mixed media. This is a lovely deep-sided box canvas. I have painted the sides white and left it unframed as it is beautiful as is.
122cm x 90cm x 3.5cm box canvas. Strung and ready for hanging x
